Unfortunately, we are not able to offer any more  Volunteering places for HOPS 2010.

It is a requirement that our volunteers has to have attended  the HOPS Volunteer Training day and HOPS Child Protection training, due to the vulnerability of the children at the scheme.

This training Day has been held for 2010.

We are happy accept Volunteer applications for 2011.

On the 19th February a group of us will descend upon Theford Forest for what will be a fantastic paint balling day!

Each person attending will be given 300 paint balls provided by HOPS, with extra paint balls on sale for £7 per 100.

Protective clothing will be provided but you may want to consider wearing more than one layer, as this will provide more padding should you be hit (Which you will as it’s paint balling) You may also want to think about footwear and clothes (Which might get muddy) So a spare change of clothes and footwear are a good idea.

A light lunch is kindly provided and there are vending machines on site should you want further refreshments

Photos will be taken so anyone who doesn’t want to be in the photos please let us know

Great news guys!

HOPS volunteers have been awarded £2899 from the Youth Opportunity Fund. With this money we have plans for team-building events for volunteers and siblings of young people who attend the HOPS play scheme who are over 13. Two planned trips, one for paint balling in Essex and another for ten pin bowling will take place between February and the end of March this year.

It is also planned to have team-building events at HOPS Settles House which will include T-shirt printing and other arts and crafts as well as group discussions around disability and how siblings cope with disabled brothers and sisters.

More information will be sent direct to the volunteers and siblings of HOPS users and will be posted on this website.
